National Cadet Corps (NCC)



 

The National Cadet Corps was established in thecollege in 2017 with only 18 cadets in first year (total allotted vacancies-54)to impart training and officer like qualities to them such that they are alwaysready for the service of the country. The NCC activities carried out undermentorship of 28 CG Battalion NCC Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.

The Birth of NCC

National Cadet Corps is a Tri–Services Organization comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force engaged ingrooming the youth with motto Unity and Discipline It can be traced back to theUniversity Corps which was created under the Indian defense act 1917 with theobjective to make up for the shortage of army. Later University Corps becomesUniversity Training Corps (UTC) which was rechristened as UOTC (UniversityOfficer Training Corps) by the British Government 1942. During world war II,the UOTC never came up to the expectations set by the British Government. Thisled to the idea that some better scheme should be formed, which could train moreyoung men in a better way during peace. A committee headed by Pt. HN Kunzrurecommended a cadet organization to be established in schools and colleges at anational level. The Cadet Corps Committee was formed on 29 Sep 1946 with Pt HNKunzru as its chairman. The National Cadet Corps came into being by an act ofthe Parliament Act No. XXXI of 1948 designated The National Cadet Corps Act1948’. This Act with 13 Clauses, prescribed the formation of the NationalCadets Corps in India. Presently NCC is the largest uniformed youthorganization in the country it has approximately 13 Lakh cadets under its fold.

Facets of Training

NCC Training is conducted for twocategories i.e. Junior and Senior. Students who are at least 12 years old canenroll for NCC in Junior Programme. Their training is conducted over two yearsand on successful completion, cadets are awarded ‘A’ Certificate. Students whohave passed 10th class and are under 26 years can enroll for theSenior Programme conducted mostly in colleges or schools having class XI &XII .Their training is conducted over three years  and on successful completion of two years ,cadets are awarded ‘B’ Certificate and after the third year ‘C’ Certificate.

Scope and Conduct of Training: Approximately 2/3rd ofthe programme is devoted to military training, which includes drill, firing,weapon training, obstacle training and service subjects. Approx. 15% of thecontent is devoted to the Personality and Leadership Development and 12% toSocial Service and Community Development programmes. The training is conductedeither in the respective institutions referred to as institutional training orin the form of Camps referred to as Combined Annual Training Camps (CATCs) orcentrally Organised Camps (COCs).

How to Join NCC:

EligibilityConditions

  • (a)   Citizen of India or subject of Nepal

  • (b)  Bearing good Moral Character

  • (c)   Enrolled in an educational institution asregular student

  • (d)  Meet the prescribed medical standard

  • (e)  Age Senior Division/ Wing (Boys/Girls)-Up to 26year

  • (f)    Enrolment Period (Boys/Girls)-3 year

Application for enrolment:

A student desirous of being enrolled in the Senior Division shallapply to the Officer Commanding of the nearest NCC unit in the prescribed formthrough the Head of the Institution with medical fitness certificate and Parentconsent to the conditions of service.

FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN


फिटनेस के प्रति जागरूकता लाने फिट इंडिया फ्रीडम रन का आयोजन शासकीय महाविद्यालय बलरामपुर नेशनल कैडेट कोर NCC ने  किया। आयोजन पूरे देश के लोगों में फिटनेस के प्रति जागरूकता लाने फिट इंडिया क्लब लांच कर उसका शुभारंभ 15 अगस्त को किया गया। जो 2 अक्टूबर तक जारी रहेगा। ... फिजिकल फिटनेस के लिए चलना, दौड़ना, तैरना, योगासन आदि का नियमित अभ्यास करना चाहिए। फिट इंडिया फ्रीडम रन का आयोजन जिला नगर सेनानी मैदान में किया गया। इस आयोजन में कॉलेज के प्राचार्य एन के देवांगन, NCC ANO डॉ  सत्यनारायण साहूSatya Sahu, NCCकैडेट्स Uday Mandal, Alok Slngh, अर्जुन, आरिफ़, Kartik Mandal, सहित अन्य शामिल रहे।
